Spring Bass Trips
Yosemite Fly Fishing offers a number of different types of trips seasonally. During the spring we fly fish private ranch ponds in the sierra foothills for trophy Largemouth Bass. These are fun exciting days and are great for beginners or the more experienced fly fisher who wants to try something different. We use float tubes to access the best parts of the ponds. This is often a better option during spring runoff than trout fishing as the ponds warm up early in the spring and fish best during the same period that the rivers are high and cold.

Day Trips - Stream Fishing for Trout
With the huge variety of fishing opportunities found in the region we fish many different locations from late spring until the early winter. Most of our trips require some hiking to reach the remote areas where the fishing is best. There are great trips for beginners who will learn the basics of fly fishing and catch plenty fish too. More experienced folks can fish for Golden, Brook, Rainbow, or Brown trout on unknown little fished streams and lakes. We customize our trips to find the best fishing, hatches, and productive areas for the season and conditions. Because of the size of the park these are full day trips that leave early and often don't return until dark.

Multi-Day Trips
We offer overnight and longer backcountry trips for the adventures fly fisher who wants to see and fish remote areas of the park. These trips will take you into the areas of the Sierras most visitors never see. The pristine waters that are accessed on these trips have fast action fishing for beautiful wild trout. We teach and practice leave no trace backpacking to minimize any impact on these wilderness areas. These are great trips for fit peoples who want to see and fish the "other" Yosemite with an experienced mountain guide. These trips include food, wilderness permits, and some equipment.

Summer Smallmouth Bass Trips
These trips are one of my favorite fishing days. The lower Merced river has a good population of Smallmouth Bass that are strong fighters on fly tackle. This is a great half day evening trip in the summer and is a good warm weather fishing option. These fish are rarely fished for and are one of the most underrated fly rod game fish. It is often possible to combine a Trout and Bass fishing day during the summer.
